My Party!

I had a much smaller birthday party this year. We had a small family party, but when you have a big family the party doesn't stay very small!
This is me and my cousins playing in my sand table...

Blowing out my candles...

Hitting the pinata...
I had a great birthday party! Thank you to everyone who came and made my day so special! And... thank you for all the wonderful gifts!

Me and Uncle Chad were playing an EXTREMELY exciting game! I was pretending to throw him smarties and he was pretending to catch them. It's amazing how funny I thought this game was! Just watch and you will see! By the way... this was right before I went down for my nap so I was a bit delirious after a long fun day!

Grandpa bought me a drum set for my birthday! I love it! Not so sure what mommy and daddy's problem is! Not quite a rock star but close!

Disneyland with Daddy!

On my birthday Daddy took me to Disneyland! Mommy had to work so she wasn't able to go but that's okay because me and Daddy had a great "boys day out". We went on lots of rides and had tons of fun! Thanks for the fun day Daddy!
When we got home I took a really long nap. When I woke up we had dinner and then I got to decorate my own cupcake. I really enjoyed that. I put frosting and sprinkles all over it!

Adding sprinkles...
Then I ate it... What a mess!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Craig

We had a little birthday party for Grandpa at our house. It's always fun spending time with the family.

Great Grandpa Hogan

On January 1st Great Grandpa Hogan went to be with Jesus. I miss you Grandpa and love you all the loves!

All my cousins came into town for the services. This is me with only two of them. Trust me... I am so lucky to have MANY more!

This is Great Grandma Hogan surrounded by all the loving family...

My Buddy Logan

My buddy Logan and I had a play date at the LA Zoo a few weeks ago. There was only one problem, it was raining. We had a quick change of plans and decided to go to an indoor children's museum in Pasadena. We had a lot of fun playing together! I can't wait for our next play date! Happy 2nd Birthday!

Dear Cooper,
Where has the time gone. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, trying to get you to stop crying! Things didn't begin so easy for any of us, but it is just the opposite now. In the last year you have become such a big boy.
Everyone loves to just watch you and try to figure out what is going on in that little head of yours. We all think you are going to be an engineer when you grow up because you are so interested in how things work and how things fit together. You can just see that little brain of yours working.
You got tubes put in your ears a couple of months ago. You continued to have chronic ear infections so we all decided that tubes were what was best for you. You were amazing during the whole surgery. The doctor also said your ears were the reason you weren't speaking English (you made up your own language). Sure enough, as soon as you got home from the surgery you started saying words. And no more ear infections!
One of your favorite things to do is talk on the phone. Everyone loves talking to you. You babble on and on (mostly in your own language). You would talk on the phone all day if we let you. Most of the time you carry the phone around the house talking to nobody. It's pretty funny!
You miss daddy when he is at work. Sometimes when you wake up in the morning you go to look for "dad" and when I tell you he's at work you get upset. It makes you feel better when you get to talk to him on the phone.
We started taking you to "My Gym" this year because we noticed that you weren't getting enough time playing with other kids. You HATED it at first. For the first couple of months you were the only kid in the place screaming and running for the gate to leave. All the other kids were having so much fun and you wanted nothing to do with it. You refused to play and you wouldn't sit for circle time. You would only cry and want us to hold you. We knew it was what was best for you so we stuck with it, even though it was very painful. Sure enough, class by class, you actually began to enjoy it. Now you LOVE going. You sit during circle time, volunteer to do the skill of the day, participate in all the activities and you love free play! We did it!
You are such a mellow, cuddly, and loving little boy. You can't give enough hugs and kisses. I really love it when we cuddle up on the couch and watch "Yo Gabba Gabba", your favorite show.
I can't even put into words what a precious gift you are from God to our entire family. We love you so much and get so excited to spend every day with you. Happy birthday Cooper!
Love,
Mommy
