Dear my precious Olivia,
It is so hard to believe that 6 months ago today we met you. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital in record breaking temperatures. You are such an amazing little girl and have brought so much joy into our lives.
Unfortunately you have been sick on and off since you were six weeks old. Between your brother bringing preschool germs home, daddy bringing paramedic germs home, and mommy bringing first grader germs home you don't stand a chance! Even through all the sickness you have dealt with, you are always such a happy little baby.
You have grown to hate the can of saline spray and the blue suction bulb. Mommy, daddy, grandma, or someone is always trying to suck the boogies out so you can breathe. Mommy has even resorted to a new kind of "snotsucker". One where I use some sort of contraption to use my breathe to suck the boogies out of your nose. I know... it sounds disgusting but it works, and there is a filter so nothing gets in my mouth. It grosses daddy out so he uses the bulb.
You didn't care for your cereal for the first couple of weeks we tried it. Dr. Marino told us to add applesauce and hopefully that would help. Well, it did. You eat your cereal all up. You have had applesauce, and sweet potatoes so far. Even though you eat your cereal you are still tall and skinny just like your brother.
Just like your brother, you don't really care for your bottles. It's a struggle every time we give you a bottle to actually get you to drink it. When you do drink it we celebrate. You stare at us when we eat. You want big people food and not bottles.
You started sitting up a couple of weeks ago all by yourself. It is so great how you can sit and play with your toys and watch your brother while he entertains you.
You are already starting to scoot yourself around. You get up on your knees and lunge forward. Usually this resorts to a faceplant straight to the ground. But you do actually get yourself to move.
You love your brother. You laugh and smile at everything he does. He's definately your best friend.
You are sleeping better but still not great. Mommy is still walking around like a zombie because I still feel sleep deprived all the time. You wake up two or three times a night because you want your binky back. Then you usually wake up around 5am for a bottle. Maybe if you would eat more you could sleep a little bit better.
Olivia Christine Hogan, we love you so much and can't imagine life without you. You are a blessing to our family!
We love you,
Mommy, Daddy, and Cooper
